IRCTC installed pizza vending machine at Mumbai Central, introduced by Yess Pizza in India
It’s an era of vending machines, you simply insert a coin or a note and grab the stuff you want. But now you can get a pizza out of a vending machine introduced in India by Yess Pizza. The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation(IRCTC) has installed such kind of machine on the Mumbai Central Railway Station where you can just insert the amount and get a freshly baked pizza within 5 to 10 minutes.
As a part of Catering modernisation, IRCTC took this step, especially for pizza lovers. Consumers simply have to insert the money and select the pizza of their choice. The machine then initialises its process by preparing base then adding topping on it and finally the pizza starts to bake. Within real time the cheese hot pizza gets ready and the consumer can enjoy the delicious pizza. The vending machine will only be operated between 7-11 PM and the pizzas will cost around Rs 150-300 while the french fries, popcorn and the ice cream will cost around Rs 100.
Countries like Japan, US and UK have already been using pizza vending machine for a long time. So, this is not a new concept.
IRCTC is continuously working on to improve the meals served in the trains as well as at the stations. It has opened 8 new base kitchen at various stations- Allahabad railway station in Gujarat, Balasore railway station in Odisha, Kharagpur, Sealdah and Howrah railway stations in West Bengal, Noida railway station in Uttar Pradesh and at Rajendra Nagar railway station in Patna, Bihar.
